My sister saw a “reunion” type Gaither show with Jimmy Fortune, and during the show a man told a story about him calling Jimmy one night and asking him to sing at the man’s son’s funeral. My sister was trying to remember the father’s name but could only say “he had on a pink shirt.” I know this isn’t about this particular program, but I hope you can find this info for us.

    • Nina Fortune says:

It was probably Bill Anderson. He hosted the Country Family Reunion shows and Jimmy sang at his son in law’s funeral.

      • Maria Dyson says:

Thank you for this response. My sister and I are both in our 80s and love our country and Gaither music. She simply couldn’t put a name to Bill Anderson’s face. Be sure to give Jimmy our thanks for wonderful music through the years.

I’m trying to find a way to contact Jimmy Fortune . I know this is an odd request to post public but I feel he should know that a woman named Sue Clark Garrett in Guthrie Oklahoma
Sue has been repeatedly watching an old Statler Brothers VHS concert tape every single day for the last 30 plus years. I was going to surprise her with tickets to this show but she became ill and unable to travel. She’s probably their biggest most dedicated fan. This season, I’ve purchased a CD and DVD player for her as I’m not sure how much longer the VHS set up will last but unfortunately, it’s not a DVD copy of the exact VHS she loves. Do you sell the DVDs of the concerts circa 80’s or 90’s?

Tried to order from store, but wouldn’t except credit card only PayPal. Love you both. One other note, won’t be on cmc but will see you in July of 2022.

Nina, I met you and Jimmy in Cottonwood, AZ many years ago. He said I could send a couple of religious songs I wrote. Death of husband and 3 moves and just plain life got in the way. could I send them now? You could PM me with an address.

  6. Robert Vines says:

Wow is really all that I can say!!! We heard Jimmy at Jeff and Sheri Easter’s Homecoming singing Thursday May 6th and man he was absolutely by far one of the best, if not the best voice I’ve ever heard. I really appreciate how Jimmy took time with the fans and it was just a GREAT concert. Can’t wait to see him again real soon.

  7. I really enjoy your music. I hope one day you get down to the Hannibal MO area for a concert.
