Eddie I love the description of Rose's headstone. We have been talking about erecting a large stone on my parents site since three of us and our spouses will also one day be interred there. It is nice to know that you were treated so gently and so compassionately. Rose has her hand on you and all that you are coming in contact with. She is right, she does deserve the best!
Heather, I always cry during "I Believe" but I did not at Jimmy's show in Raynham. My granddaughter held my hand tightly since I had told her that I loved the song and that it made me cry. Instead, I felt calm and peaceful. There was an atmosphere in that church that night that I can't describe.

Pam and Heather, I know what you mean. Whenever we were at a Jimmy concert, it was just a wonderful time hearing Jimmy sing and the feelings of calmness that would overtake you. As you know, Rose's favorite song is "My Only Love" which I had played at the conclusion of the services at her viewing. As for what the gentleman did with offering to change the headstone color, I have no idea what urged him to to that - other than Rose whispering in his ear.

Eddie, we KNOW these things are true. There is no other explanation. I met Hugh just a few months after my mom, who was living with me after my dad's passing, died. I have always had the belief that she ran into his mom who had departed two years earlier and started a conversation that led to, "You have a son? I have a daughter...." With Rose looking over your shoulder from Heaven and people being kind, you are able to do such meaningful things. Choosing a headstone can be such a difficult time, but Rose knew that and made it better for you. Thank you for sharing with us.
Heather and Pam, I had "How Great Thou Art" sung at both of my folks' funerals, so you can just imagine.... And when Jimmy sings about being there the day his "Mama went to Heaven," all I can think of is the hospital room where my mom was and how she looked. And then with "More Than a Name on a Wall," I look at my husband who knew, as does the soldier in the song, that he wanted to be in the military from the time he was a child and am grateful he made it through Vietnam rather than being on that wall as his commanding officer is. Jimmy just intuitively understands the human heart and is gracious enough to share his vision and wisdom with us.
How blessed we all are in so many ways!

I know that, in the posts on Rose's passing, I've said that I was overwhelmed at all the love and support that I've received from you all and our families and friends. But as I was sitting watching Jimmy's DVD today, the mail arrived with a letter from the American Cancer Society that they received another donation in Rose's name. This coming almost two months after Rose went to Heaven. The outpouring of kindness in prayers, words, cards, flowers, mass cards and donations to the Cancer Society has left me without words. To top things off, I just checked Jimmy's tour site and saw that he's coming to Pennsylvania in December. I can't wait to see you all at the Festival.

Eddie, I'm so glad you found a person like that when you went to pick out the stone. I believe there are just many things that happen that we don't understand, I've had things happen that have no explanation, but I have no doubt what the messages were and who they were from.... Believe and be comforted...... It's good you are able to share with us here.

I just changed some of what I had written before. I knew what I meant to say, but it didn't come out right.....

I just received the message below in an email this afternoon. As soon as I read it, it made me think of all the stories that Eddie has shared with us so I wanted to share it with everyone.
Heather
A Penny
That Little Penny In The Parking Lot Remember this every time you pass that little penny in the parking lot. I always thought that it was for good luck, but I love this version better. I found a penny today Laying on the ground. But it's not just a penny, This little coin I've found. Found pennies come from heaven, that's what my Grandpa told me. He said Angels toss them down. Oh, how I loved that story. He said when an Angel misses you, They toss a penny down; Sometimes just to cheer you up, To make a smile out of your frown. So, don't pass by that penny When you're feeling blue. It may be a penny from heaven That an Angel's tossed to you. So now pass this on to people you care about And who you feel are Angels to you.. I just did... An Angel is now watching over you. Have A Great Day!

Beautiful reading Heather. Everytime I find a penny, I think of Rose. In fact I call "pennies" roses now. Did this in front of our 17 yr old and he gave me a look like "mom, are you ok". haha Had some explaining to do and now when he sees a penny, it makes him think of his grandfather (my dad) who died 3 yrs ago and helps him bring back those great memories. I find a lot of "roses" when I do laundry every Monday. Sheila

Sheila - I loved that - calling pennies "roses" - but I'm still waiting for Ro to start dropping dollars bills - then maybe we can call them "long stem roses".

Sandy, I think it's payback time and Ro needs to start dropping dollar bills - like Sheila said about finding "roses" (money) on laundry day. Sometimes I'd asked Ro if she had found some money I had in my pants pocket when she did the laundry - she'd get this "innocent" look on her face and say "who? me?"

Family is important - I'm finding out a lot about that now. Ro's sister, Eleanor, and her husband, Reds, have been so supportive - the family has had me over for family functions and dinners. I'm going to my grandniece's graduation party soon as well as being invited to my other nephew's wedding. On Wednesday Eleanor's son, Joe, and daughter in law, Mary, had me over for dinner along with Eleanor & Reds, to celebrate my birthday. I honestly hadn't been looking forward to my birthday for obvious reasons but I had a very nice time and told Mary & Joe's children, that I was 39 - don't think they were buying that. They had a birthday cake, with 2 candles, something about the fire marshall not allowing the real number of candles
