The change in the message board layout is really different. I am finding the lack of color hard to adjust to. I guess the change was done for a reason, but I find that the previous blue background colors were a lot easier on the eyes than this black and white. Also, I really find it annoying to have to use the slide bar at the bottom of the screen in order to read the posts. It was so much nicer before the "update" when the post was all on the screen at the same time. Maybe it is just me, but I don't think the new Message Board design fits well with the rest of the website sections. Does that mean that the rest of the website is being changed too? Just curious.

Jean, two things: On my laptop it's a blue background, so you might check your video settings. Also, mine fits in its entirety on the screen. No slide bar, so you might want to check your display settings or resolution to see if a setting change would help.

Jean, Mine is exactly as yours is. A little (pesty) to be using the slide bar. The color is too light also. Maybe Sarah's advice will help. Will play around with it. Thanks. Gladys

I have to use the slide bar to read the posts also. The fields just look a little too big. I still can't go back to the home page with the tabs for the tour dates, etc. I know Nina wrote something about the JimmyFortune.com that they purchased. But to check the tour page tab, as well as the other tabs, I have to sign in to Jimmyfortune.com. each time.

I'm not having to use the slide bar either. I will have to check with Clayton on this. It seems I had this problem a while back after an update a year or so ago. I can't remember how it was solved. There have been many people who said these colors have been easier for them to read. This update was done in a hurry so Clayton might be able to work on things like color. We are looking into a new web design but that could take some time. Don't worry Jean, that will not be black and white. As for going back and forth from the message board to the website, here is how I do it. I have the main page of the website set as a favorite on my computer. I click on that and when I click on the message board and an additional window opens. That way the task bar at the bottom has both and I can click on which one I need to see on my screen. But I always have 7 or 8 windows open at one time anyway. Anyway, until I get with Clayton on these issues, I hope you can sit tight. Nina

Thanks Nina I will have to save the home page as a favorite and do it that way.
As for the color the black and white is great for me much easier to read. But black and white is standard for microsoft and that is what I have so am used to it.

Another thing you can do to get to the right place is go to the site once. Then from your regular home page if you want to go to the main page, just start typing "jim..." after "www." in the address bar (if you have it set to be open in your toolbars) and all the pages that start with it will scroll in a menu and you can choose the right page. If you have your time on the computer set to retain sites set long enough, and you visit often enough, then you are set.
Another thing you can do is just set the site as your home page by using "Internet Options" under "Tools." Then you can always click to where you want to go.
Regarding size: Check "Text size" under "View" and see if changing it makes a difference.

if you go to the tool bar on top of the screen click it for full screen (f11) it helps a little for the tool bar. to return to normal screen go to the upper right hand corner and click the double squares. christine says older computer monitors can not handle this screen size. new monitors have wider screens. i think the update has been setup for newer computer systems. i am told not long from now that my computer will be obsolete. 2 years maximum. so i think this was the right thing and this way we won't have to deal with more changes in the forseeable future!

clayton has much more computer expertise than me. i hope any words i said did not offend him. i am very comfortable with the new board now. for me and this very old cpu(im not giving details) the page does not fit on my cpu screen. a 2 inch slide bar at the bottom of the screen at full view is what i see. the future is here and many old units offline will function just fine. thank you clayton for protecting us and giving us years of trouble free friends and fun!
