I have not been on here much for awhile. There have been many things happening and to be honest, I've been exhausted and just sick from it all. We' ve been having a lot of problems concerning my Dad.
He's had so many tests, bloodwork done and there are no exact answers yet, but things are not sounding good. There should be an answer soon and I am afraid of what it will be.
Dad has been losing weight and the doctor is trying to find out what is going on. An x-ray shows a slight shadow on his lung. Monday he has to go to the hospital for more x-rays and a bone scan. We all know what it sounds like, but pray it is not.
So, once again, I ask for prayers-- for my Dad and for our family. Thank you in advance.

Carolyn, I hope you are taking care of yourself, too. You work so hard to take care of Daniel and your father, that I think you put yourself last way too often. Please know that your father is in my prayers for as long as he needs them. Pam

Carolyn,
Please also accept my prayers in your dad's regard. I can well imagine how worried you must be about what will be revealed, and you're probably exhausted from all that worry and stress. Remember that you need to take that deep breath every so often and give yourself some "quiet moments" to regroup and recharge your batteries.
I hope and pray that things will work out in a positive way for your dad. You are so blessed to still have him, and I know how much you want to continue having him in your life.
Also, thank you so much for the beautiful sympathy card regarding my dad. I treasure it and your wonderful words.
Take care of yourself. May God bless each of you.

I thank each of you more than you can know. I'm trying to keep myself together, but it's hard. We bought groceries and took them to my Dad this afternoon. I don't know how much he'll eat, but at least I know he has food in the house. This week, I'm going to take him some cooked meals and see if he'll eat. I have to know that I'm doing all I can.
He seems to be getting around the house ok for the most part. Thank goodness we made him a bedroom downstairs awhile back. He doesn't look well at all and it's so hard to see what is before my eyes.
Thanks for all the support and prayers. We are going to be needing them. I don't know how fast they'll be talking to us after the hospital does the proceedures tomorrow. I'll let you know.

Carolyn, we are with you in spirit and prayer as you face this new challenge. There are so many times in our lives when we begin to doubt if we can bear up, but we know you will, because we know you and how strong you have been for others. Do take care of yourself, too, my dear, as others have said. Caretakers need more strength than many folks realize. Prayers for you and your father; changing from the cared-for to the caretaker is difficult in the best of times. When you have a moment, please let us know how it is going.

Carolyn, You are in my prayers. I wondered if your Dad lives alone? Bless his heart....it's so hard on all of you, especialy the waiting. You have the love and support of everyone on this board and I hope that brings some degree of peace to your mind and heart. Take care and God bless.

Dad does live alone. He has some wonderful neighbors that keep an eye out for him. It's so hard for him to ask for any help and he'll go without, before he'll ask. He didn't want me to be bothered buying groceries today, but I knew he hadn't been to the store. After questioning him a lot, I found out what he needed, so was able to help. He thanked us over and over.
I kept putting off coming on and posting about this. I guess writing it, makes it more real---if you know what I mean. Knowing I have you supporting us does mean a lot. I have certainly doubted how I can bear more....but of course I can and will...with help. I had been hoping and praying for a new year with no major worries about health issues or anything major going wrong. I sure could have used a break.
Thank you my dear friends and God Bless. Carolyn C

Thank you so much. Dad had to be at the hospital today at 11:30 and didn't get out of there till after 4PM. They gave him a card to prove that he had these tests-- because if he was somewhere like the airport, he would set off the alarms because of the radioactive injections he had for the tests. We don't know anything yet, so now we wait. They said it could be a week.
