Your prayers are needed
« on: July 22, 2012, 11:26:36 AM »
I know you all know the health history on Rose's side of the family.  Only Eleanor remains of seven siblings and of the other six (including Rose), five have passed from cancer and leukemia. One of Rose's sisters, Christine, passed from brain cancer over 25 years ago at the age of 52.  Rose's niece (Christine's daughter) has a son in his early 30s who has been battling leukemia for 3 years.  He had a bone marrow transplant that was considered successful.  However, now a brain virus has complicated his recovery and the prognosis is not very positive.  The other day I spoke with Jacqueline (Christine's daughter) who was so very supportive when Rose passed and I spoke with her the other day and she realizes that Ben (her son) is very critical.  She brought him home from the hospital to be close to him and Hospice is ongoing.  I ask for your prayers for Ben and for Jacqueline and her husband.

Always happy to send prayers from here Eddie! God bless!
Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

Eddie, what a dreadful burden for this family!  So many losses and so much pain!  Prayers for all.

Wish I had better news - I received a call today that young Ben has only a short time.  Family is at his bedside.

Fervent prayers for all who love Ben and for his flight to Heaven to be pain free and easy. Hugs to you, too, Eddie!

Sadly Ben passed away on Friday - his pain thankfully is gone - talked with my niece, Jacqueline, yesterday.  She is making the final plans - the viewing is scheduled for Friday evening.  Ben passed away a few weeks short of his 33rd birthday.  My brother-in-law (Jacqueline's Dad) has seen his 1st wife (Rose's sister) die, along with two of his sons and now his Grandson, Ben.  Keep the family in your prayers.

Eddie, I am so sorry to hear this news.  Certainly he was much too young.  I recently attended a funeral for a young man and Fr. Rick told about another funeral where he asked the parents what they wanted him to say, and they asked him for the prayer that said "it wasn't supposed to be this way".  Parents aren't supposed to bury their children but it happens.  Fr. Rick assured us at Danny's funeral that Danny's had lived a full life, even if it had not been as long as we would have liked.  Ben has done that also.  It may seem to us that he his life was cut short, but it was complete, for Ben.  His parents hearts are broken, I am sure.  Why wouldn't they be?  But Ben is at peace.   Our prayers are with all of you.

Thank you all for your kind words about Ben.

As we speak, I just received word of 2 more viewings that I must attend - the father of a niece on my side of the family and also a brother-in-law of Eleanor (Rose's sister).  Both gentlemen were in their 80s.

I am so sorry, Eddie.  I am afraid this is what comes as we get older.  I cannot believe the number of funerals I have attended this year.
