Our youngest could use some prayers
« on: May 06, 2012, 09:52:21 PM »
Our youngest son, Steven, is getting married on June 23.  He is currently unemployed.  He would, like so many, love to have the perfect job, but he would be happy to have any job right now.  Your prayers are much appreciated that he find some job.  He has applied everywhere.  Now all he needs is for someone to hire him.  Thank you all so much.

Pam, I heard from a friend at church yesterday that, at least in some parts of the country, many railroads are hiring as they are trying to redevelop.  She (also a Pam) said ahe knew of folks hired at $25 an hour just to start training. No details, but it might be something for him to look into.

We will be praying for Steven Pam. The railroad work ,that Sarah suggested, might be worth looking into I worked for the RailRoad  back in the 60s. I never got $25.00 for training. ;) Good luck!

Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

Pam,

Prayers going up that Steven finds work soon - the economy is difficult right now - but my prayers will continue for him to find a job.

Thank you all so much.  I knew I could count on all of you.  Just now I realized how  much I wanted them to have a place of their own.  Without work, they will have to live with Steph's folks, but today I realized how important it was for them to have a place of their own.  I will share the railroad info with them.

There seems to be nothing happening for Steven yet.  There must be a reason for this.  Clyde and I have made Steven a main focus of our prayers, and we know that God will answer them in His own time and way.  Patience is a virtue that we both need to work on!

My prayers continue that Steven finds work soon.  Pam, is Steven in any particular field or industry that he's searching for?

Eddie, I don't think he cares particularly.  He has some expertise in computers, web design, and photography.  He has a temp job beginning on Monday.  It lasts for 10 days and will be on board a Navy ship in the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in NH.  He will be winding cable for 12 hours a day.  At this point he is thrilled to be earning any money.  He is hoping to get into the shipyard but needs to take a written test in a couple of weeks.

Love to all of you and thank you for your prayers.  Pam

Prayers continue that the test goes well for him and he can get permanent work there.

There was a fire onboard a nuclear sub at the shipyard last night.  Apparently it is not where Steven is working.  Funny, but this morning, knowing nothing about the fire, I decided to do a little "mother fretting" about Steven working on a ship.  Then I get on Facebook and see the news about the fire.  As, I said, I wasn't concerned but I did find it interesting.
