Twitter?
« on: March 15, 2012, 01:10:00 AM »
Does anybody here besides me use Twitter?  It seems that's the way a lot of artists are going to promote their work, in addition to Facebook.  Any chance Jimmy might join Twitter, Nina?

Country artists currently on Twitter include Barbara Mandrell (Twitter name @MandrellBarbara), Martina McBride (@martinamcbride), Dolly Parton (@Dolly_Parton), Bill Anderson (@WhisperinBill), Reba McEntire (@reba), Darius Rucker (@dariusrucker), Oak Ridge Boys Joe Bonsall (@joebonsall) and William Lee Golden (@wlgolden), Jimmy Wayne (@JimmyWayne), Craig Morgan (@cmorganmusic), Lynn Anderson (@LynnAShow), Jack Ingram (@JackIngram), Luke Bryan (@LukeBryanOnline), Josh Turner (@joshturnermusic), Loretta Lynn (@The_LorettaLynn), and Larry Gatlin (@LarryGatlin).  That's just a SMALL listing - there are a BUNCH more!

Other celebrities use it, too - actors, athletes, politicians, etc.  And non-celebrities, too!  You might find your best friend or your next-door neighbor on there!

If you're not familiar with Twitter, go to www.twitter.com and see how it works.  You "follow" different people, and those you follow will send short messages either through Twitter's website or to your cell phone (you can set it up that way if you like) telling you what they're doing.  It can be a fun way to keep up with what's going on!

I'd like to ask a favor of those of you who use Twitter or intend to do so.  PLEASE follow Lynn Anderson (@LynnAShow)!  She's new to Twitter (been there a couple of months) and is trying to get to 500 followers!

By the way, my Twitter user name is @paula_pow, so please follow me if you'd like!  Thanks!

Paula, I never have used it and am a bit leery to start. I spend too much time on Fb and here as it is!  I'll have to think about it.

I'm on Twitter, but only in connection with my Vintage Broadcasting Blog, etc..The only posts I do are directly from Blog-to-Twitter or from my Classic Media FB page to Twitter..As Sarah said, a lot of my own time is spent on Facebook..I have no real desire to "Tweet" on that much of a personal level I guess..

You also have to deal with more spamming on Twitter.  I guess if I wasnt already on Twitter in connection with my hobbies, I probably wouldnt be on at all..

All that said..TLones1480 in case anybody cares to follow me.

Paula,  I am on Twitter, but really don't use it that often.  I'm under "pspohr".

I have wondered about Twitter but not sure it is something I would do.  Like Sarah, I am on FB  too much as it is.  Of course if my kids get into it, who knows what I might do.

I'm on twitter but forget what name I am using.  Whatever you do, do not leave your phone on at night unless you want to have the twitter tweeted right out of you.  That's a wakeup call for sure.

Experience speaking Billie  ;).  Not on Twitter - I waste enough time on FB don't need to add more things to do.
