Please pray for Kathy.  Pray for all of us!  Armand seems to think that she won't last more than a couple of weeks.  I found out today and had Clyde call Armand.  I just could not do it.  Kathy seems to be fading very quickly.  The tumor did not appear to have changed when they did the MRI last week, but it sounds like her body is just giving up.  I can't tell you how confident I am that Jesus is beside her now and that she is reaching out to him.  My heart is breaking for all of us who will be left behind, her husband, her children, her mother (how awful that must be) and her brothers and their families.  I have been so sure that she would come through this and I still pray that she will, but I know she is ready.

Pam, we will keep everyone, including you and Clyde, in prayer for peace, understanding, and hearts filled with the Lord's love and caring.  There are beautiful things that have happened for all of you:  To be able to see Kathy, share your lives and concerns with her, and talk about whatever is needed as her journey here reaches its end.  If God so chooses, knowing she is ready is a wonderful assurance. Just love her and tell her so.

Pam,

Please know that I am with you and Clyde as you help Kathy and Armand at this heart wrenching time.  Sometimes I look at the Cancer Angel you sent Rose and how she always kept it nearby even when she went to the nursing home - so I know how important you and Clyde have been in Kathy's life.  My prayers will continue for Kathy as she endures this long battle - please give Armand as much support as you can - I know that you and Clyde are already doing that.  I know what our FT family did for me and I know we will continue to help Kathy. More words fail me at this time - but I know my prayers will not stop for Kathy.

Armand called this morning to ask if we would be willing to make something for Kathy to eat.  He said that she always eats anything I make for her.  I had already taken things out to make a casserole for Armand and their daughter, Heather, but changed the recipe to one that Kathy really seems to enjoy.  We will take it up after church this afternoon.  I also called Fr. Rick, our pastor, to arrange for him to visit.  Armand has been away working so much until these last few months, that he has not really met the priests that now serve our parish.  Fr. Rick will go up to see Kathy this weekend to bring her the sacraments of the sick and to bless her.  It was easy to talk to Armand today as I had gotten past some of the grief I was dealing with yesterday.  Kathy has been dealing with this for 20 years and I think we all thought she would do so again.  It isn't going to happen this time, I am afraid.  They have stopped the treatment since it isn't working and hospice will come tomorrow.  Thank you for the prayers for Clyde and I, too.  I am sure that is where the strength I needed this morning came from.

So sorry to hear this, but she had made her peace and knew where she was going, so my prayers are for her family and friends who are left here to miss her and feel the emptiness her move to Paradise has left.  That, of course, includes you and Clyde, Pam, and Armand.

Pam and Clyde,

My heart goes out to you both on Kathy's passing. Please let Armand know that we are here for him and his family. I pray for Kathy as she makes her journey.  I know somehow Kathy and Rose will meet and I've come to realize from Jimmy's song - "On the Other Side" - that things will be better for them both now that the pain has gone. Armand's pain will be intense but somehow God eases the hurt even though Armand and the family will miss her.  Somehow God put you and Clyde with Kathy and Armand for a reason and a purpose and I don't think that will end with Kathy's passing.

Thank you all.  I spent Wednesday afternoon with Armand as we planned Kathy's funeral.  In 2003 she asked me to help her write her obituary and put together some other notes for her funeral.  I have kept them all this time.  Armand was so relieved to see that I had that material.  We selected readings and music, and decided on who could do what.  One of his brothers and a sister are coming in this weekend.  The funeral will be Monday morning.

Eddie, I agree that Kathy and Rose will find each other.  Kathy prayed for Rose at my request.  I always asked Kathy to pray for specific people in my life.  I felt that God heard her prayers in a very special way.  He blessed her often over the years even though she spent 20 years dealing with brain tumors, surgeries and the after affects.  The gift of faith is precious and she was certainly gifted.  I watched her faith grow and was in awe of it.

I'm so  sorry. You know my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family and other friends. Even when you know it is coming....it still is shocking and hard.....

Pam,

It's heartwarming to know that Kathy was praying for Rose.  And I returned her kindness praying every day for her with that special Cancer Angel that you sent Rose.  Let Armand know we are still praying for him and the family to ease the pain of Kathy's loss.
