Urgent prayers for our friend

mingy:
Please pray for Kathy.  Pray for all of us!  Armand seems to think that she won't last more than a couple of weeks.  I found out today and had Clyde call Armand.  I just could not do it.  Kathy seems to be fading very quickly.  The tumor did not appear to have changed when they did the MRI last week, but it sounds like her body is just giving up.  I can't tell you how confident I am that Jesus is beside her now and that she is reaching out to him.  My heart is breaking for all of us who will be left behind, her husband, her children, her mother (how awful that must be) and her brothers and their families.  I have been so sure that she would come through this and I still pray that she will, but I know she is ready.

Pam, we will keep everyone, including you and Clyde, in prayer for peace, understanding, and hearts filled with the Lord's love and caring.  There are beautiful things that have happened for all of you:  To be able to see Kathy, share your lives and concerns with her, and talk about whatever is needed as her journey here reaches its end.  If God so chooses, knowing she is ready is a wonderful assurance. Just love her and tell her so.

Eddie:
Pam,

Please know that I am with you and Clyde as you help Kathy and Armand at this heart wrenching time.  Sometimes I look at the Cancer Angel you sent Rose and how she always kept it nearby even when she went to the nursing home - so I know how important you and Clyde have been in Kathy's life.  My prayers will continue for Kathy as she endures this long battle - please give Armand as much support as you can - I know that you and Clyde are already doing that.  I know what our FT family did for me and I know we will continue to help Kathy. More words fail me at this time - but I know my prayers will not stop for Kathy.

Armand called this morning to ask if we would be willing to make something for Kathy to eat.  He said that she always eats anything I make for her.  I had already taken things out to make a casserole for Armand and their daughter, Heather, but changed the recipe to one that Kathy really seems to enjoy.  We will take it up after church this afternoon.  I also called Fr. Rick, our pastor, to arrange for him to visit.  Armand has been away working so much until these last few months, that he has not really met the priests that now serve our parish.  Fr. Rick will go up to see Kathy this weekend to bring her the sacraments of the sick and to bless her.  It was easy to talk to Armand today as I had gotten past some of the grief I was dealing with yesterday.  Kathy has been dealing with this for 20 years and I think we all thought she would do so again.  It isn't going to happen this time, I am afraid.  They have stopped the treatment since it isn't working and hospice will come tomorrow.  Thank you for the prayers for Clyde and I, too.  I am sure that is where the strength I needed this morning came from.

Kathy passed away this morning at 6:30 AM.  She went quickly and peacefully.  Thank you for all your prayers.  Pam
