Heather,  please be assured of our prayers all week for both you and your mom.  We may as well include your dad as he will be stressed too.  Thank you for sharing all of this information with us.  God will be with you and your mom, so put yourselves in his hands and rest in the assurance that He will be there.  Pam

Heather, having been through the same biopsy and the knee surgery too, I still can only imagine trying to deal with both at the same time.  Surely there will be prayers for all of you from here in NC and across Fortune Land!  Please know that we are with you in mind and spirit if not in physical presence.

Thank you Sarah and Pam. Mom's biopsy is done along with the follow up mammogram. Now we just have to wait until Thursday afternoon for the results. In the meantime Mom has preop this afternoon for her knee replacement surgery.

All of this waiting has to be the most difficult part.  I belong to the "rip it off like a bandaid" group.  I want to know immediately and then I want to solve the problem.  Not an easy way to live by any means, but it is the way that I am.  So God bless your dear mother.  She and all of you will be in our prayers.

Heather,

Just got on and read the updates on Mom.  The waiting and the unknown cause the most stress and it's so difficult for all of you.  My prayers continue for Mom and especially you and Dad as you deal with all of this.  Know that we are with all of you as you help Mom through this.  Keep us posted as time permits.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get on with the results of Mom's biopsy. Things have been so busy around here in the past week. Everyday last week we had either one or two doctors appointments; mostly for Mom. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I had a craft fair from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day. Plus Saturday night, after my craft fair, I attended a benefit for a friend I went to school with since kindergarten who has recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer.

The results of Mom's biopsy, were negative for cancer. Her doctor says they are 99% positive that the two spots are scar tissue. Everything is all set for Mom to go in on Monday, June 4th for her knee replacement.

Once again thank you all for the prayers and kind words. You all are the greatest.

So great to hear the good news.  Tell Mom we're still praying for her knee problems.

Thank you, Sarah and Eddie.

Mom is so calm, and actually excited and looking forward to having her left knee replaced. Don't get me wrong as Mom is a little nervous as well, but she keeps talking about how she hopes to be in less pain and to be able to do more after it is replaced..

Tomorrow afternoon we will find out what time Mom's surgery will be Monday. What we do know for sure is that Mom will be in the hospital for at least three or four days. Then she will either go somewhere else for some therapy, or will come home for the therapy and then be transferred after awhile to outpatient physical therapy. Which ever happens depends mainly on how she is doing in the hospital, and whether she is pushing herself to try to walk or not trying to walk. Whichever happens we know her doctor will have her best interests in mind.

Also, tomorrow afternoon we are going up to South Station to get Grampy. Grampy will be down for awhile, don't know how long though, to help me especially if Mom comes right home as it would be alot on me with Dad as well.

Will keep you updated as I know more. Once again thank you for all the prayers and kind words.

Mom's knee replacement surgery is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, and she has to be at the hospital at 12:15 p.m. When I hear how she makes out, and can get on here I will let you know.

We will be praying for all of you.   I am sure your mother is going to do very well.  I would much prefer a morning surgery myself.  My one surgery  was around 2 in the afternoon.  Along with fasting from midnight on, I was bored waiting around all day.  Clyde worked that day until 2:30 and my dear friend, who I have requested prayers for on another thread, stayed with me until they took me into the OR.

Mom went into surgery at 2:00 p.m. today. All the nurses, doctors, etc. said they have never seen anyone so happy and calm coming in for major surgery before. Her doctor called me around 5:00 p.m. He said that everything went wonderfully. She handle the anthetias, sorry for the misspelling, beautifully. The new knee went in beautifully, and her old knee was beyond horrible. Mom will be going into her room around 7:00 p.m., so Dad, Grampy, and I will be going down to see her tonight. Thank you all for the prayers and kind words. Now onto that rough road of therapy.

Great news Heather.  Now comes the hard part.  I understand initially there is a lot of pain but with exercise the end result is well worth it.  My mother underwent knee replacement when she was in her 80s & what an improvement - she was able to get around much better and even more important - no more pain.  Prayers continue for your mother's progress.
