Bob:
Good to see you back Beth, also just a short note to mention to all following the thread over the months,The family wants to let you know how your kind words have served as a comfort to us all,you also might want to recheck the obits I copied in my last post above beths, details have been added concerning the memorial next Friday, been getting questions concerning it and don't want anyone who is able to be there to miss it,just got off the phone with a childhood best friend I haven't seen since 1967,he has family going as many who have slipped my mind over the years,a get together at the VFW where the memorial is being held after the memorial, sounds like I'm going to be reacquainted with faces I have no names for,I know due to the distance and cold in Maine right now most likely there won't be FORTUNE TELLERS there but know you will be in our hearts, and,We know, in spirits, We are having a timeline of pictures of John through his life time at the door as you would enter,if possible I'll try to get copies so you will be able to share in the celebration of his life and 26 years as a man in uniform, serving his country before he retired and traded it for a cowboy hat and his dream of being one, after his short stint as our hobo brother, spoken in loving jest, ;) as you might or might not know ,cowboys have written and unwritten codes of how one should live their lives, many I never knew but am learning from the hundreds of cowboy/girl ,friends who have shared a side of my brother, few, including myself where not totaly aware of,as of this moment John /HOBO is officially John /THE COWBOY,he corrected me a few days before his trip to heaven and informed me the name HOBO he didn't like anymore and wanted to be remembered as the cowboy he became,I LOvE John so much and have such a big empty spot I didn't know I'd have days before his passing, the comfort, now, is knowing the pain is gone and he said he couldn't wait to see what Job his savior had for him,I do know on his time off he is probably going to be riding along side our dear friend TONY BROWER,shaing stories like any other cowboys would do, since Tony & John nerve got to do it as planned, somewhere between Washington State and Colorado,CANCER took them both way before they could do it, know one thing cowboys, you are LOved, admired, and missed by your FAMILY & FRIENDS.

Thank you for the kind words Doug, yes you probably would have enjoyed your time with John,His memorial was two days ago /FRIDAY, There where people from washington State, the Dakotas I think one was ,Lousiana, and many more places around the country, anyone he met and talked to ,you might say he left an impression, also had a deep love for his horses, dog ,his children and other family members,He was quite the cowboy yet family man,Things just where done in his time, his way ,and mostly on his terms, which all where as fair as a man could be,he truly tried and I'd say very well succeeded in all he did with his time and talents while with us,Just got home a short while ago from Maine but will fill you all in on more when I get caught up,I am totally existed, and trying to patch a hole in my life I never thought one could have, one I get my thoughts together and rest,I'll share his memorial with you,Thanks for so much guys,LOvE you All. Eddie:
Bob,
John was a very special person in your life and yes, the hole in your heart seems unrepairable. Somehow God repairs the hurt and pain - it takes time - but He will do it. You have your immediate family to help and you have us to lean on and talk to when you feel you want to. Please know we are here for you at any time.
Eddie
