Bob and family,  Please accept my sincere condolences.  Hobo was a free spirit and always was a friend and a "little brother" to me.  He was the one who would tell me not to be sorry because he was a blessed man.  Yes, he was blessed but he was also a blessing.

Bob,  Want to send you a pm to let you know how very sorry we are about Hobo.  I truly enjoyed my time with him at the festival and found him to be a warm, interesting and fine person.

I hope knowing that others are with you at this sad time in your life will bring comfort to you.

Please extend to Ann my sincere sorrow over Hobo's passing, but, also my admiration of her for the wonderful and loving care she took of her brother.  There is no doubt about the love she has for her family and that is something that can never, ever be taken or replaced.

Anytime you need or want to talk, we are here for you, Bob.  You are a very close and personal friend to both of us and have done so much for Jimmy's board and fans.  We could none ever thank you enough, Bob.  You are always willing to go the extra mile to try to help people.  You are a genuine friend to so many.

Our love and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Patsy and Ludwig

Patsy I passed your kind words to Ann last night in an email.
Yes Jean Hobo was definitely a free spirit ,he did something for everyone who ,he spent time with as he made his journey the years spent since his 26 years in the UNITED STATES NAVY,retiring as a SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER,as he served his country well so did he his fellow brothers & sisters in life, biological and spiritual family & friends,he definitely left a lasting impression no matter who he was with or where he was,I deeply miss him.
John & Dena I received the beautiful dry flower arrangement from THE FORTUNE TELLERS, I am going to place it over my fireplace in my family room once I get through making a mess in it,doing finishing touches on trim, painting,ETC. I am deeply touched by the beauty of the flowers,a reminder of the beauty of the friendships made since the creation of Jimmys solo career & the FORTUNE TELLERS,still no official plans for a service,it is tentatively going to be one of the first two weeks of next month, most likely the second week,I think, giving all time to make plans, flights ETC. , I'll let you all know when it is definitely set,it will be in Auburn,Maine where his  ashes will be laid to rest with our dads,I believe my daughter Kayla will be there with her bagpipes,as John would be honored for her to do for him, please keep her in your prayers also ,this has been a hard loss for her to deal with as it has been for brothers & sisters & their children,The service will be full military honors, I'd imagine.
My family has been visiting this thread as a source of comfort and reflection ,thank you for the kind words and loving memories that you've shares with us,Our LOvE and appreciation to all of you .

Bob, your tribute to Hobo brought me to tears. I cannot imagine how hard this has been on all of you. And that service should be filled with every honor that can be had. If it were here in NC, our local Marine Corps League (to which Hugh belongs) would send an honor guard and do a gun salute.  I would be there in person if I could, but I, like many of your FT family, will be there in heart and spirit. Such service as your brother's should be at  the center of our thankfulness every day.  I send all best thoughts and good wishes to all of you every day, and I pray for each one to have the most positive and blessed of memories.

Bob,

From this Vet I want to thank Hobo for his long dedicated service to our country.  My heart goes out to you, Bob, and your family during this trying time.  Hobo brought inspiration to all who met him.  He fought a long hard battle and never complained. I remember Hobo with a smile on his face - something I'll always remember.
We're family, Bob, and you know our hearts are open to you.  We're here when you need us - and our prayers continue for all of you to receive God's peace in your hearts.

I so wish we could be there.  I will be in FL and Clyde will be on his way back here that day.  I know we thought we could be there to support you.  Wouldn't you know it would not work out that way?  It seems that every time we leave home, something like this happens.

Good to see you back Beth, also just a short note to mention to all following the thread over the months,The family wants to let you know how your kind words have served as a comfort to us all,you also might want to recheck the obits I copied in my last post above beths, details have been added concerning the memorial next Friday, been getting questions concerning it and don't want anyone who is able to be there to miss it,just got off the phone with a childhood best friend I haven't seen since 1967,he has family going as many who have slipped my mind over the years,a get together at the VFW where the memorial is being held after the memorial, sounds like I'm going to be reacquainted with faces I have no names for,I know due to the distance and cold in Maine right now most likely there won't be FORTUNE TELLERS there but know you will  be in our hearts, and,We know, in spirits, We are having a timeline of pictures of John through his life time at the door as you would enter,if possible I'll try to get copies so you will be able to share in the celebration of his life and 26 years as a man in uniform, serving his country before he retired and traded it for a cowboy hat and his dream of being one, after his short stint as our hobo brother, spoken in loving jest,   ;)  as you might or might not know ,cowboys have written and unwritten codes of how one should live their lives, many I never knew but am learning from the hundreds of cowboy/girl ,friends who have shared a side of my brother, few, including myself where not totaly aware of,as of this moment John /HOBO  is officially John /THE COWBOY,he corrected me a few days before his trip to heaven and informed me the name HOBO he didn't like anymore and wanted to be remembered as the cowboy he became,I LOvE John so much and have such a big empty spot I didn't know I'd have days before his passing, the comfort, now, is knowing the pain is gone and he said he couldn't wait to see what Job his savior had for him,I do know on his time off he is probably going to be riding along side our dear friend TONY BROWER,shaing stories like any other cowboys would do, since Tony & John nerve got to do it as planned, somewhere between Washington State and Colorado,CANCER took them both way before they could do it, know one thing cowboys, you are LOved, admired, and missed by your FAMILY & FRIENDS.

Thank you for the kind words Doug, yes you probably would have enjoyed your time with John,His memorial was two days ago /FRIDAY, There where people from washington State, the Dakotas I think one was ,Lousiana, and many more places around the country, anyone he met and  talked to ,you might say he left an impression, also had a deep love for his horses, dog ,his children and other family members,He was quite the cowboy yet family man,Things just where done in his time, his way ,and mostly on his terms, which all where as fair as a man could be,he truly tried and I'd say very well succeeded in all he did with his time and talents while with us,Just got home a short while ago from Maine but will fill you all in on more when I get caught up,I am totally existed, and trying to patch a hole in my life I never thought one could have, one I get my thoughts together and rest,I'll share his memorial with you,Thanks for so much guys,LOvE you All. Bob,

John was a very special person in your life and yes, the hole in your heart seems unrepairable.  Somehow God repairs the hurt and pain - it takes time - but He will do it.  You have your immediate family to help and you have us to lean on and talk to when you feel you want to.  Please know we are here for you at any time.
