Please read Don Reid's latest blog from this past weekend.  It's funny, and I know exactly what he went through---word for word... ;D

Yes, Don's situation is eerily similar to what many of us have experienced. I have sadly come to the conclusion over time that all computer work takes at least 2 1/2 times the quoted estimate.  Luckily, my most recent grinding sound was only my 2007 Dell laptop hard drive, so I did not have all the associated learning with Windows 7, etc., but I imagine I have merely delayed the inevitable.

The most poignant part of what I read was the age of Don's computer, a retirement gift to himself.  It hardly seems possible that it has been so long....  And I know I, like so many of you, still sorely miss the wonderful harmony, humor, and stage presence we all have treasured for so long.

I read it last night.  Yes it was funny, but probably not to him at the time!  I agree, Sarah.  The time between then and now just seems to have vanished!  The thought that we're never going to hear anything new from them ever again breaks my heart.  :(

The time between then and now - thankfully - has been our "Jimmy".

Love the blog.  Don's a winner everytime.  Thought it was kind of funny, cute that Debbie would think to invite the computer man for supper.  Love it...."southern hospitality" at its best.   Dreading the time when we have to get a new computer too!   I sure miss these guys.   Country music will never be the same without them.  But, I have to agree with Eddie....Thank God we have Jimmy.  He brightens our days and has caused us to have many dear, dear friends.

I think my Dell may be a relative of Don's.  It made some sad noises back a few months ago but my son told me to just clean the fan and all would be well.  He was right.  Still I think I need to replace this one before it crashes all over my computer room.  I understood every word Don said.  I suspect I will be walking in his shoes very soon.

Cindy,

I agree with you about missing the "guys".  I still watch the "Last Concert" video and listen to their music. If Dailey and Vincent can make a success out of their music - can you imagine if the Boys did one last CD?

ROFL!!!  Funny indeed!  After just having my computer in the shop (hard drive went belly-up last week) for a few days, I can identify!  I'm glad I DIDN'T have to get a completely new computer!
