Stark County Fair (Canton, Ohio)
« on: September 22, 2010, 01:16:33 AM »
I had mentioned here on the message board several times that I would love to see Jimmy perform at the Stark County Fair where I live here in Canton, Ohio..The 2010 Fair just concluded..Just thought I would send an email to the Fair Board talking up Jimmy..Here is what I wrote..

"Hello:
Would like to suggest a Main entertainer for next year's or the following year;'s Stark County Fair..Jimmy Fortune, former tenor singer for the Statler Brothers Country music group..Since The Statlers' retirement from touring in 2002, Fortune has carved out a nice solo career for himself as a Country/Gospel Singer, Recording 4 CD Albums and a DVD.  He has made a number of appearances on Various Grand Ole Opry Shows and The Ernest Tubb Music Jamboree..

I've seen Fortune perform live twice in the last several years,,He has a great stage presence and is outstanding with the fans..He was inducted as part of the Statler Brothers into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2008..

Here is a link to Jimmy's Website

There should be contact information there..

Thanks for your time:

Tim Lones"

Don't know if anything will come of it..all we can do is try..

Tim,

You could also get the information for the fair to Nina or Billy James and they can check into the fair.  Never hurts to cover both ends.

Hi Tim -
It was nice of you to send that message to the Fair.
Hope you and your wife are doing well.
