Question
« on: May 25, 2008, 11:09:39 PM »
There is a 10 foot gator swimming around the beach.  People keep going, letting their kids swim in the water with that thing.  A child or an adult is no match for something that big.
If there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.

Something must not be clicking in the adults brains.  He is huge and there have been pictures of him on the news.

Don't those idiots realize that a kid would just be a snack for a gator that size?  :'(
Consider the turtle. It never gets anywhere unless it sticks its neck out.

You're assuming they do have brains.  People seem to think 'it won't happen to me' - until it does.

A ten foot gator will also attack adults.

They just said, on the news, to wear your sunscreen when you go to the beach, tomorrow.  They should be saying go to another beach, not the local one.

You're right.  He's looking for a girlfriend and food.  I would hate to think one of those kids were grabbed and spun around in the water until their life ended.

Maybe they think sunscreen will repel gators, too.  People that go to that beach are probably dumb enough to believe it.

I remember about 30 to 35 years ago, we were camping near Silver Springs, Fl.  A friend and I swam out to a float in the lake.  I was looking around, and said look at that log over there, she laughed and said that it was a gator.  I think I could have qualified for the olympic swim team  getting back to the beach.  She and her husband were both herpetologists!

I heard about an alligator snatching a full grown woman off of a dock in Fla. last summer.   Those people would have to be crazy to let children go in that water.  I would not go anywhere near that beach, must less take children.  I guess next thing we know, there will be shock and mass media over an alligator attack there.

These people have to know that Louisiana is full of gators.  We have them at the end of our street when it becomes time to find a mate.

Where my sister, lives in FL,  has had gators sunning on her drive.

When one of those suckers hits land, they can out run a human for about 100 yards.
