jan and cindy thank you for responding. i was a child when i vacationed in pembroke. i remember the smell of the gasoline, the  trees the beautiful cabins the ice cold lake the awesome barbecue at uncle bens cabins and delicious canadian candy. my life as a child was really blessed. where are you now cindy? even as nice as san diego is i do not want to live here. the people are not like family and unless you are a tourist  i dont believe you could really love living here.  :-\ unfortunate circumstances require me to stay here. i have an autistic son and the courts took him from me. and if i leave he cant come with me. i would never see him again. california has tough laws with little hope of reunification. to me its all about the money.
i do have dreams and some day my son and i will leave.

That part of the country is very pretty...and cooler than much of the country now. I know you want to be near your son....I would not be leaving either.

Welcome Paula,

We have a couple of other people on here from Nashville by the name of Jimmy and Nina! ;) I'm sure you would just love them  :) You will find that the rest of the folks are a joy to know.  :) God bless!

Riley  :)
Give me a sense of humor, Lord,
Give me the grace to see a joke,
To get some humor out of life,
And pass it on to other folk!

Thanks for the friendly welcome, Riley and mingy!  I saw Jimmy here last Saturday night, as you'll see from my post about the Midnight Jamboree!

I also went to several Statler Brothers TV show tapings back when that was on TNN, and I even ran into all four Statler Brothers shopping at Rivergate Mall here one time before that!  In fact, I left the mall right behind Jimmy and Phil, and Jimmy held the door open for me.  My mother and I used to go see the Statler Brothers in concert in Charleston, SC, every time they were there (at least twice with Barbara Mandrell, once with Helen Cornelius) when I was a teenager, so she's a big fan, too, and was pretty impressed when I told her about seeing them at the mall that time!  That's been YEARS ago - probably 15 years at least.
