Carolyn, we are proud without hearing him.   We have really gotten to know Daniel through you and we are proud that we do.  I am thrilled to hear how well he is doing.   It won't be long before he is hardly using that cane, just watch and see.

Prayers do receive answers, don't they?  This time God's hand is so clearly on Daniel.

I am so glad Daniel just keeps getting stronger.  What a shock to see it's been 1 1/2 hrs.  He has certainly been put through the wringer.

Thank you all for your posts! It is hard to believe it has been a yr and a half already. We have seen God give us plenty of miracles over this time. I've just felt that it was meant for Charlie and I to be right there helping Daniel and family since this happened. We're so thankful to see how far he has come. He is so proud when he talks about you all to people. He truly treasures you and loves you. What you have done for him and given him is beyond any words I can think of. I'm not sure why, but he hasn't been on the computer in several months. In fact the last time was when he wrote a message here. We always ask him if he wants to get on the pc, but he doesn't. He always asks me to tell you all hi, thank you and all that, but he hasn't been on to send email or do anything. I don't push, just let him do what he wants to do when he's here. That usually is watch tv or sit and talk to us.

It's so nice of you to keep us updated, Carolyn.  I don't always post, either...we know it doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate the thoughts and prayers.  We are still sending them and are so glad to hear about the wonderful ways they are answered!

Roxanne, Hi, thanks so much. I wondered if you were doing ok and if you made it on the cruise. We sure appreciate the thoughts and prayers and it is so great when I can give good news. We can all certainly see the blessings and answers still coming our way. You take care and know we still think of you and you have our prayers too.

Carolyn, I have been bad--too busy with the start of school to get some things I have for Daniel packed up and mailed, but I promise I will soon.  It's so much fun to make him smile.

Roxanne, I am so glad to hear all went well and is well with you.  Like Carolyn, I have been worrying a bit about you.  Surely pleased you were able to get to know so many FTs.  Praying for you and the ease of your heart.

Hi, Carolyn.  Thank you for thinking of us.  The cruise was very emotional, mom would have loved it!  We are doing o.k., and we, too see God's answers to prayers.  The support from wonderful people like you, is huge.
We're here for you, as well.  You and Daniel are in our thoughts and prayers...the rejoicing ones, too!  It's so wonderful to see him doing well!

Keep up the good work, Daniel!  You are still in our prayers.

Thanks for your posts! I'm sorry I haven't been on much this past week, but do want you to know how much your words are appreciated.

Daniel was here Tuesday afternoon and evening. We had a grand opening of our new Walmart Supercenter. At long last we have one in my town!!! We thought one of the Ohio State football players was going to make an appearance at WM but it's next Tuesday. We were told wrong. Daniel was SO disappointed that his favorite player wasn't there. I felt so bad for him because he had been excited and counting on seeing him ever since Sunday. He had asked us Sunday if we'd take him out to Walmart and of course we said sure. Thank goodness I called WM Tues. before we went out to ask where they were setting up the table for the guy...so we'd know before we got out there in that crowd. That's when they told me he wasn't there. I had to hang up and look Daniel in the eye and tell him the bad news. He was all ready...had his Ohio State shirt and hat we bought him and the new Ohio State jacket we bought him for Christmas. After we ate, we went out to Walmart anyway and let him shop and get some cool things. At least he had fun doing that and motoring around with the electric cart. We took him back to Greenville at 10PM so he did have the afternoon and evening with us.

There's no big news to report, but it's still noticeable that he is improving week to week. They're working on him being able to get up if he should fall. One thing-- he now can walk into a store with just his cane--or a restaurant! He tires out if he is up too long. It makes it so much easier to go out to eat and he feels so much better not having to be wheeled in. In fact we rarely take the wheel chair anymore.

I'm supposed to tell you all again a big hi from him and thanks for the prayers!! He sends love and hugs. When he talks about you to people they think he's talking about family! :) He is of course, but they think he means family right around here!

Carolyn, I think it is amazing news that he is able to walk into stores and restaurants with a cane.   How wonderful not to have to take that wheelchair everywhere - for you, but esp. for Daniel.  I think of him often, particularly when I am talking to someone about physical therapy.   I have finished mine and I miss it.   It did wonders for the strength in my leg and the pain in my hip and back.  I need to continue with some of the exercises here at home but Curves is helping.   I know that Daniel will one day be talking about when he used to go to therapy.

Pam, good to hear that you got better enough that they released you from therapy, but I understand what you mean about missing it and what it did for you. I have got to start walking or something to get in better shape. I bought a pair of light weights to use when we went to Walmart the other night, but ended up sending them home with Daniel for him to use. He told me that he uses them in therapy for his arms and he was using mine after we got home from Walmart. I figured I can buy more. I don't know what all he did in therapy today, but his Mom said they worked him hard. I'm anxious to find out what all went on.

Will it be possible for Daniel to make the visit next Tuesday?  I'm sure he would still love it!
