Thank You!! He will love receiving more cards! Two arrived already! I want to let Lynn and Kim know yours are the ones that got there today. When we went in to see Daniel the nurse had them hung on his wall just as she had promised she would. Lynn you are great at making just the perfect card, thanks a million! The race car is so neat! Kim your card is so nice with such a special message and believe me you both have touched our hearts with your kindness. It makes Charlie and I feel so good and so lucky to see these cards from friends on here that care this much about Daniel. Daniel has seen them and had them read to him and knows you are special, good people and friends of ours and HIS special friends too.
Now I have some good news to add to this. He was up all afternoon in his chair and had therapy. They told us he did great and they even had him STANDING.

Now this is of course with people right there with him, but, he was on his feet standing. The nurse said he is getting better every day. The assistant told us she spends lots of time with him and last night they were watching cartoons (he was holding her hand) and Daniel not only smiled, but laughed, really laughed out loud. She said when they listened to music and he had her hand, he was moving her hand to the music. She told him when he gets out of there she is going to dance with him before he leaves! Oh how I pray that comes true. She has gotten him to communicate with her. When he came there she told him she needed a way to know what he needed and she taught him to blink his eyes for yes and no. (one blink or 2 blinks) This girl is amazing, just adores him and wants so much to help him. How can you begin to thank someone like this..... Also they are feeding him ice shavings now to get him used to swallowing again. Every time we go we see more and more changes for the good. Today he was moving in his bed and trying to move himself up in the bed to get more comfortable. This may not seem like such a big deal, but if you had seen him laying for months without moving in bed and suddenly see him trying to scoot up and move around, you'd know how wonderful this was to see. He could move arms and legs before, but nothing like this. It's like each time we go in he has come out of it more and is more alert.
He's had lots of friends visit him since he got there. It's so encouraging to see him better. All the prayers are working and I know with all of us praying there will be many more good things to report.
Dad's dr said he is doing well and his weakness and being so tired is nothing to worry about, that it is normal for the recovery process. We have to take him for blood work in a few days to make sure the kidney is still going and not worsened, but dr thinks it's ok for now. Dr listened to his chest and back and said all sounds clear. Thank God for this too.
How's this all for some good news!? I try not to get too excited, but we needed some good news, so I'm going to enjoy it and pray it continues.
Thanks you guys,
Carolyn C
