I have stayed at some pretty bad ones too. A few times we have been in the middle of nowhere and there isn't a choice. I remember we drove over 100 miles looking for a vacant hotel room one night. It was so foggy we couldn't see the road. About 3am we finally found a hotel that had rooms available. I was grateful until we got in the room. I didn't want to touch anything and the middle of the bed was about one foot lower than the sides. It stunk too.

The artists that are on those shows are promoting in new CD. To get on these shows the artists usually hires PR and they get them appearances like that.
