Welcome back Elaine!  I recently returned to the board too.  I can't believe your newest child is starting preschool.  Time does fly!  I missed you.

Good to hear from you Kathy.  How do you like Phoenix?

Hi Jan!  Long time no see....I've been born and raised in Phoenix and I never have gotten used to city life... or the HEAT.  Unfortunely, my job causes me to drive all over the west valley.  I put between 50-100 miles a day on my car.  The only way I survive is AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!  This weekend was so hot that it caused my car to literally flip out.  I had a short in the electrical system that caused the a/c to turn on/off, the cooling fan didn't work properly, the car started overheating, and I had several caution lights pop on.  In the midst of this, I was running around town like crazy trying to get all my errands done before my cat was ready to be picked up from the vet.  I managed to get my car fixed today, big OUCH!  I have put an excruitating amount of money into my car this summer.  I will continue to tough it out, though, until God is ready to move me elsewhere.  I do miss the fun times we all had in VA and NC.  Staunton is such a beautiful and peaceful town.

So yes Max, dancing, camping, church keeps me from going insane in the summer heat.  And of course JIMMY!

I've been coming and going; mostly reading and not posting.  It's been a busy summer for me with vacationing in CA, then 2 separate campouts and another one on the way.  And, of course, SQUARE DANCING outdoors in the cool mountain air!  It's the only way to stave off the Phoenix heat.

i hope we can meet kathy at the az concert! :)

I thought you didn't think you could make it.  If you are there, we should plan on meeting.  And anyone else who will be at that concert.

Ladybug,

It must be spooky to have an anniversary on 9/11.  Does it affect the mood or are you able to celebrate that day?  You don't have to answer, I'm just curious.

This is a new employer.  I'll have the chance to travel around so that's exciting.  I'll be in NC for 6 months.  After that I'll be relocating elsewhere.  This company does a great job matching the job assignment with what the therapist is looking for.  I'm hoping eventually I'll get back in VA.  I just love the Shenandoah Valley!  But I'm only going to be 3 1/2 hours away from Staunton, so I plan on staying in my women's bible study group that meets once a month.

Steven,

I can't remember what you actually did with the count when I moved.  Arizona has 2, so I know I'm still in the Arizona count.  But did you include me in the Virginia count too?  If so, I have another one for you to add.  I'm moving to Halifax County, NC in Jan for a job assignment.  This isn't a permanent move.  I'm a travelling therapist.  I still consider Arizona to be my primary home state.

Hey, calling all FT from NC--I'd like to know who you are and what places are great spots to check out while I'm there.

Sharon,

I understand what you're talking about with missing your soulmate.  I'm missing mine, too.  Yesterday was a special anniversary for me.  It wasn't our wedding anniversary.  We had 3 other special days that we celebrated each year.  I have another one of those days coming up in Dec.  I've been thinking an awful lot about him lately and the holidays makes me miss him all the more.  I pray that you are touched in a very special way this holiday season.  May God go with you.

Elaine:

I found the container that had my baptismal certificate.  I was right....my spiritual birthday is in May -- May 21, 1978.

Elaine, you are so good!  :D  I am very proud of my spiritual birthday, but I don't celebrate it.  At my church, they give you a candle and tell you to light it on your baptismal day, but I don't do that either.  Why is that?  ???  We should be proud!
