Sent you back a pm, Eddie.

Hi everyone,

It's been awhile since I've been on.  It has been a busy week.  Our daughters have been in and out with cooked meals for us and visits and also several friends and neighbors.

I am progressing fairly well as far as my back goes.  I had a little set-back over the weekend when we decided to purchase a to-go meal on Friday that really made me sick.  It took me until late Sunday to get back on my feet again.  Everything is fine now and I contiunue my recovery from the back surgery.  Will see the Dr. on Thursday and will give you all a report.

Thanks for your continued support and for your prayers.

Patsy

Thanks Eddie.  I highly recommend my surgeon, Dr. Marc Goldman.  He definitely has his patient's best interest at heart.   He can only do one level at a time and has told me that I will probavly be sent back to Emory University Hosp. in Atlanta for any future surgery that could involve more than one disc.  Praying that will not become necessary though.

I'm feeling much better today and awoke with a new enthusiasm for life.  One week does make a difference!   At the end of next week I am supposed to begin my walking therapy which will be a mile, twice a day.  Dr. Goldman has great confidence in me!

Thanks for the suport I get through the wonderful, kind and caring people on this board.  It means much more than words can say.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to take so long in posting.  I've sort of been in another world!   :)

As Sarah said, the surgery was a "go" on Friday (although the potassium was still a bit low).  I came home on Sunday afternoon (although I really did not want to nor think it was a good idea.  I DO have this Ludwig person to deal with and the wounded puppy-dog looks convinced me).   From there it has just been day by day.  Good and bad.  The good came first, and as usual, my dumb self told me to walk faster and move more often, minus the pain meds.   ???    After several painful days, I've learned that the meds are there for a reason and not to try to be a hero.

So as I continue on this little journey of recovery I want to thank everyone of you for your prayers and thoughts and also for the beautiful bud vase that was sent.  Beautiful pink and yellow rose-buds brought a ray of sunshine into my room (yellow roses are my very favorite).  I thank you and aprreciate you more than you will ever know.

Please keep us in your prayers as I have a way to go.  The brace I MUST wear when out of bed is bundlesom and is a real bother, but, I know better than to move without it.  I will NOT go through this again (hopefully)!

I sort of doubt it.  They (the hosp) should have done the pre-op sooner, but, we were having insurance issues.  Maybe it's just not meant to be.  It's all good...I will be o.k. either way and maybe just start the entire process over again if I have to.  Not worried about it.  The Lord is in control!

Sending a check the middle of month.  Already mentioned this to Ludwig today.  Told you I would before and forgot (6 grandchildren can make one forget!).  I will send a message when I mail it.  Thanks for doing this, Sarah!

Hey Everyone,

I don't know if my surgery will become a reality or not!  I went today for pre-op and they did the usual chest x-ray and blood work.  Potassium came back low....2.5 and it has to be 3.5 to 5.0.  The dr. called in potassium and I stopped by the store for bananas and other foods or juices that had a high potassium level.  I won't know anything until Friday morning when I go to hosp.  I may be sent home. Either way we will let all of you know something as soon as we can.

Btw, my low potassium is a chronic issue with me and I could have been taking otc potassium pills had I know.  The entire thing has been a major headache with insurace issues and now this.   All is well and in the hands of the Lord and I love and appreciate all of you and your concern and prayers!
