It was announced this afternoon that Kenny Rogers, Bobby Bare and "Cowboy" Jack Clement will be this years additions to the country music hall of fame.

All good picks.  I am really happy that Bobby Bare made it. He has been overlooked for years, and finally got the nod.   :) :) :) :) :)

Still a lot of deserving folks out there to put in the hall  over the next few years.  People like Alan Jackson,
Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Daniels and many others!

Our local radio station just played "Flowers on the Wall". Today is the anniversary that the song was recorded  3-13-1965. Doesn't seem that long ago!

Jimmy stuff / Frizzell and Friends TV Show
« on: June 07, 2009, 12:05:28 AM »
Tonight they ran a rerun of the David Frizell and Friends show on RFD.  I missed it the first time around.  I enjoyed the show very much.  The show included Merle Haggard, Joe Stampley, Jimmy, Helen Cornelius, Gene Watson, Jeannie Seely, T Graham Brown, Crystal Gayle  and others.  Jimmy performed four times on the show.  First with David, second with Helen Cornelius and David, 3rd with David and T Graham Brown and a final song with all the performers on the show. They have a DVD and CD for sale on David Frizell's web site. All in all, well done!!!!

Jimmy stuff / Gaither Show

Did anyone see the Gaither show that aired on Saturday nite (Nov 1)?  It was a Gaither bluegrass show that Jimmy was on.  He sang "I Believe" with Dailey & Vincent.  Very nice show. Marty Stuart and others performed on the show.  Jimmy also did a short interview with Bill Gaither on the show. :)

Hey,

If you get a chance, find someone with access to the RFD channel.  Tonite was the airing with Don & Harold  & Grandstaff. It was a very good show, the only bad thing about the show was that it wasn't long enough! The show will be repeated a couple of times later in the week.

Hello,

If you folks remember, a few months ago it was posted that a new bluegrass group was being formed named Dailey & Vincent.  It was noted that they would be recording some of Jimmy's songs at that time.  Tonight, they performed in my home town, and I had the pleasure of seeing them.  Wish you all could have been there, they were excellent!  The sang "Elizabeth" More Than a Name on a Wall" "Silver Medals and Sweet Memories" and an album cut of the Statlers "Your Place or Mine".  They did a very good job of Jimmy's and the Statler's songs.  I got to talk to Jaimey Dailey at the intermission and he said that he will be singing at the Statlers Hall of Fame induction. Right now they are the hottest group in bluegrass music.  In addition to their musical ability, they are fine down to earth people, were very approachable, and very polite.  They would be great to have on the next Jimmy cruise!

If you miss that airing, RFD will repeat the show a couple more times during the week.  Ralph's shows are always very interesting, and needless to say this one will be very special!

Saw this on the Nashville Tennessean website today. Thought some of you might be interested in this.

Wish I lived closer to Nashville!

General Fan Discussion Forum / Pop Goes the Country
« on: December 06, 2007, 09:58:03 PM »
For those of you that don't have the RFD channel, somehow find a way to get it!  On Thursday nights reruns of Ralph Emery's Pop Goes the Country are aired. Tonight the original Statler Brothers were on.  They sang "I saw your picture in the Paper"  "Class of 57" and "Noah found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord" and "Bed of Roses".  They had some great looking suits on (Patriotic in Nature).  The opening song for pop goes the country each week was done by the Statlers.  Great Show!

Prayer Requests / Prayers for tornado victims.
« on: October 19, 2007, 05:45:58 PM »
Hello,

I live in northern Indiana, about 45 minutes from South Bend (Home of the Fighting Irish).  Last night a tornado ripped through the town of Nappanee, IN.
I have relatives and friends that live there.  No lives were lost, but a ton of property damage happened.  The town is just starting to get some electricity back, and they are under a boil order.

Thanks for your prayers as these folks deal with this and try to get their lives back in order.
